Vision

To bring new economic development to rural south-western Ontario by means of generating the key commodity of electricity required by homes and businesses, in a manner that is sustainable and responsible to the environment and its citizens.

   

Goals

  1. Develop co-operatively owned sustainable energy sources in rural counties.
  2. Engage landowners for land use for photovoltaic [PV] arrays, wind turbines & towers, and anaerobic digesters.
  3. Engage citizens and local businesses as Co-op Members.
  4. Build strong rural communities.
  5. Promote community ownership of the key commodity of electricity.
  6. Demonstrate environmental awareness and responsible land stewardship benefits.
   

Definition

Countryside Energy Co-operative Inc is an autonomous association of persons united voluntarily to meet their common economic, social and cultural needs with aspirations of producing alternative sources of renewable energy through a jointly owned and democratically controlled enterprise.

   

Values

Countryside Energy Co-operative Inc is based on the values of self-help, self-responsibility, democracy, equality, equity, and solidarity. In addition, this Co-operative believes in the ethical values of honesty, openness, social and environmental responsibility, and caring for others.
