PV converts energy received from the sun directly into electricity. PV cells can be produced several ways, but essentially a very thin slice of high purity element silicon [Si] with wiring. |
It is essential that PV systems are properly located. When the sun is above the horizon at any time of the year there has to be no shading from trees, buildings, powerlines or telephonelines etc, transient phenomena (eg passing traffic), or any other permanent or temporary shading.
