Hydro-electric generation schemes are encouraged by the Ontario government and utilities.
Ironically, until China's "Three Gorges Hydro-Electric System" comes into operation in 2011, the Niagara Falls hydro-electric system was the largest renewable energy generating facility in the world for over seven decades. Shared with New York State utilities, all Ontarians and New Yorkers should be proud of their sustainable energy endeavor.

The Co-operative's intent is to collaborate with Conservation Authorities and local bodies with small dams or significant water flow, to develop or enhance small hydro-electric generation (<20MW). The Co-operative's members can bring equity to such projects, sharing or paying in whole for developments, with Members receiving dividends on their Preference Shares.
